We do not expect payment at the time of
your office visit. We will submit all
charges to your insurance company to help
you get maximally reimbursed. We are
required by law to subsequently bill you
for any balances resulting from unmet
deductibles, and such. We appreciate any
payment you can make. However, we respect,
without question, any circumstances which
may preclude you from making any payment
at any time.
Simply share any financial needs and
concerns with us!
For Worker's Compensation
Patients
At the time of your office visit we
must have a written authorization for
treatment from your employer. We will need
a claim number, as well as the name,
address and telephone number of both your
worker's compensation and your health
insurance carrier. We will also need your
employer's name, address and phone number.
It is your responsibility to obtain this
prior to your office appointment.
For Motor Vehicle Patients
We will need a claim number, as well
as the name address and telephone number
of both your motor vehicle insurance
carrier and your health insurance carrier.
It is your responsibility to obtain this
prior to your office appointment.
For Worker's Compensation and Motor
Vehicle Patients
If there are delays because of invalid
claim number, disallowed claims, court
settlements, etc., you will be required to
pay your balance due.
For Medicare Patients
We do accept Medicare and our office
will submit your claim for you. Please be
sure to give us any supplemental insurance
information.
If you have X-rays: Relating to
the reason for your office visit, please
remember to bring them with
you.
We accept cash, check, Visa and
MasterCard. Any charges for bad checks
will be added to your account. There may
also be added charges for delinquent
accounts or missed appointments.
Lastly, as you can imagine, completion
of disability forms is a time consuming
matter. Our office needs five (5) working
days to complete forms. Please make sure
your section is complete. All forms are
mailed to the company or institution, so
please be sure we have the correct
address.

Preparing for
Your Office Visit
When you come for your office visit, you will need to bring the following:
*Patient forms for Dr. Nenna can be downloaded at these links (as well as on our Forms page), and viewed as either Word documents or PDF files. If your computer does not have Adobe Acrobat installed, you may download it by clicking on the "Get Acrobat Reader" icon below.
Finally we ask that you appear for your
first visit 15 minutes early. Your
cooperation and that of all our patients
in this regard helps tremendously in
expediting your office visit and avoiding
delays.
During Your
Office Visit

We want your office visit to be a
professional, informative, yet, relaxed
experience. We are all very approachable,
informed but yet informal. We are here to
respond to your physical comfort, as well
as your emotional needs. We welcome your
questions and we have a wealth of
information both written and unwritten to
provide to you. Please, just ask!
Regarding Your
Surgery

Your surgery will be performed at
either Hunterdon Medical Center or Surgery
Today, which is the free standing
ambulatory surgery center affiliated with
Hunterdon Medical Center.
Your surgery will most likely be a same
day procedure which implies you will go
home the day of your procedure.
Local anesthesia or local; anesthesia
combined with intravenous sedation is the
type of anesthesia utilized with most hand
surgery procedures.
General anesthesia is reserved for the
more extensive hand surgery or shoulder
procedures.
With local anesthesia, except for
surgical discomfort, you are fully aware
of the entire surgical episode. Like
getting 'Novocain' at the dentist, the
area of surgery is numbed with injections
at the intended site for surgery, but you
are alert and aware of what is going on in
the operating room. By first administering
an intravenous sedative you have no
awareness of the local injections
subsequently administered or the other
goings on in the operating room. The
intravenous agents are rapidly metabolized
by the body so the patient wakes up
quickly, refreshed without such side
effects as nausea. General anesthesia is
reserved, as previously noted, for the
more extensive procedures where local
anesthesia, with or without sedation, will
not suffice to prevent or relieve surgical
pain.
After Your Office
Visit

We really want to know if we served
you well, so at the conclusion of your
office visit, we welcome you to complete
our Patient Satisfaction Survey or just
send us an email at staff@hunterdonhandmd.com.
